Job Description - Sustainability co-op (September term)

Across our operations, spanning 7 farms, 8 grading stations, 3 processing plants, and 2 distribution centres, we collect, grade, boil, cook, and ship eggs nationwide. Burnbrae Farms has built a strong, trusted consumer brand, offering a wide range of value‑added products including EGG Creations!, Simply Egg Whites, EGG Bakes!, EGG Bites!, and EGGS2go!.

JOB DESCRIPTION


This is a great opportunity for hands-on experience working on various size projects in egg farming. Everything from installing fence to assembling large scale components of modern egg production barns.


 


Position Title: Sustainability Co-op placement


Replacement or New Role: New


Term: 8 month Co-op Placement - September 2026 - April 2027


Work Mode: Hybrid


Reports to: Director, Sustainability


Direct Reports: 0


Salary Range: $21.00/hour


Bonus: No


Address: Mississauga, On


Travel: No


Language: English


 


 


JOB DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:


Data Management



  • Collect, enter, and manage environmental data (e.g., energy, waste, water) using software tools.

  • Track progress on sustainability goals and maintain accurate records for key performance indicators (KPIs).

  • Prepare basic reports and summaries to support sustainability tracking and decision-making.

  • Collect and consolidate relevant data from internal systems to support customer reporting needs and audits.


Research & Reporting



  • Conduct research on sustainability topics and summarize findings.

  • Assist with implementing initiatives and collecting information for the annual Sustainability Report.

  • Support the preparation of internal and external communication materials.


Employee & Community Engagement



  • Help organize and participate in employee volunteer and community investment activities.

  • Track donations, volunteer hours, and contribute ideas during team meetings to enhance sustainability efforts.


Project & Administrative Support



  • Provide coordination and administrative support for sustainability projects and the Director of Sustainability.

  • Maintain organized digital files and update content on SharePoint.



  • Perform other duties as assigned
