You will be a member of Equipment Engineering and Transmission Asset planning which is responsible for managing transmission station’s civil and electrical assets. This includes but not limited to maintenance planning, budget forecast and control, establishing strategies, and support rate filing activities.

Your job duties may include assisting equipment engineers in:

• Updating major electrical equipment data base is SAP


• Keep meeting records and Coordinate meetings with vendors and multiple disciplines in Hydro One


• Upgrade and maintain the team SharePoint site


• Developing technical specifications for major electrical equipment in transmission stations

Assisting asset managers in:

• Data gathering and analysis using SAP and Business Intelligence module


• Data analysis


• Assigning maintenance plans


• Writing codes and macros to automate data update and maintenance planning


• Writing job aides


• Strategy writing


• Site visit for data gathering


• Tracking projects’ progress


• Budget control


• Administrate team mail box

This job will provide you with the following professional development:

Technical Skills:

• Obtain basic understanding of how power networks operates


• Obtain basic understanding of High voltage and high power equipment


• Obtain basic knowledge of maintenance planning


• Obtain basic knowledge of Data base


• Hands on experience working with SAP


• Getting exposure to financial aspect of engineering


• Technical writing

Soft skills:

• Working in a professional environment


• Obtain basic understanding of how a regulated business operates


• Getting exposure to engineering project flow

Job requirements (Selection Criteria):

  Discipline: Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering

  Academic Level: Min. have completed 2 year Bachelor of Engineering

  Courses: Electrical Circuits (must), Physics (must).  Thermodynamics, Power system and Magnetics are considered as an asset

  
  

Other requirements:

• Flexibility and ability to work as part of a team


• Ability to work independently


• Attention to details


• Self-starter and takes initiatives


• Good oral and written communication skills


• Computer programming

Additional requirements:

• Some travel may be involved. Driver’s License considered as asset
