Could you be the full-time V.I.E Design Verification Engineer in Toronto, ON we’re looking for?

Your future role

Take on a new challenge and apply your design verification expertise in a cutting-edge field. You’ll work alongside collaborative and innovative teammates.

You'll play a crucial role in ensuring that our designs for turnkey and electrification systems, as well as signalling solutions, are fit for their intended use. Day-to-day, you’ll work closely with teams across the business (such as system design, testing, and safety assurance teams), manage project standards and requirements, and oversee compliance monitoring using IBM DOORS DNG. You’ll also contribute to the definition and execution of verification and validation (V&V) strategies and ensure seamless integration between in-house and on-site testing activities.

You’ll specifically take care of interfacing with design teams to share and detail V&V activity results, but also support the construction, integration, and validation phases of the project.

We’ll look to you for:

  • Managing project standards across the full project lifecycle, including tracking revisions, ensuring compliance, and addressing issues with system teams and clients

  • Defining verification methodologies for selected deliverables in alignment with approved V&V strategies

  • Reviewing test plans and descriptions for in-house verification activities

  • Performing, documenting, and reporting assigned verification, integration, and test activities

  • Collaborating with the Safety Assurance Manager to review verification results for safety demonstrations

  • Providing and analyzing data to maintain KPIs and dashboards using Power BI for project tracking and reporting

  • Identifying risks, scope gaps, and grey areas, and escalating concerns to ensure schedule adherence and project success

  • Participating in Return of Experience (REX) sessions to drive continuous improvement

All about you

We value passion and attitude over experience. That’s why we don’t expect you to have every single skill. Instead, we’ve listed some that we think will help you succeed and grow in this role:

  • University Degree in Electrical or Electronic Engineering

  • Good understanding of system engineering processes, preferably EN50126 and ISO15288

  • 1-3 years of relevant work experience

  • Knowledge of railway systems and operations

  • Familiarity with the rail construction environment and engineering practices

  • Proficiency in IBM DOORS DNG for requirements management, traceability, and compliance monitoring

  • Fluent in English, with strong communication and analytical skills

Target start date: October 1st, 2026

Compensation

Throughout your assignment you receive a fixed monthly allowance at the end of the month.
Part of this allowance is the same for all volunteers (€ 772.87 /month); and another part called "geographical" which varies quarterly according to your country/city of assignment.
