Your Co-Op Opportunity at ARC’TERYX:
As a Design Co-Op Student, you support in the creation and design of Women’s apparel product solutions that are in line with Arc’teryx design philosophies and our guests’ needs. You bring your curiosity and passion for production to support the Women’s Design team in building innovative, relevant and resolved design solutions. You work closely with designers and design developers, as well as cross-functional teams to bring designs and concepts to life.

Key Products/Areas You’ll Be Designing For:
Key areas of focus are trim and material boards, construction mock-ups, design research, tech pack building, and other design support

Meet Your Future Team:
We are builders, problem solvers and passionate outdoor enthusiasts. Fueled by curiosity, we take an immersive approach to identifying future needs, then build, test, and validate products that solve for real functional challenges. We collaborate deeply with our athletes, supporting the gear they test and learning from the feedback they share.

If you were a Design Co-Op Student now, here are some of the core activities you would be doing:

    • Creating and updating design boards, preparing materials, trim swatches, and updating digital presentations
    • Collaborating with other Design team members to create documentation for design hand offs; gathering technical drawings, materials, trim information details, and references samples
    • Assisting with documenting seasonal data trends and athlete insights
    • Assisting with the preparation of internal and external presentations
    • Collaborating with the team to develop an understanding of apparel design prototypes, patterning, and modeling methods
    • Supporting in updating technical drawings and design packs as required

Here are some of the things you will learn by the end of your Co-Op placement:

    • You will be equipped with the experience to take on the role of a design assistant
    • You will gain a deep understanding of the design process from ideation to prototype
    • You will understand the basics of technical materials, garment construction, and design principles
    • You will be able to balance multiple priorities at once, and work collaboratively with multiple cross functional teams in order to meet project deadlines

Are you our next Design Co-Op Student?

    • You are in your fourth year of post-secondary study, in the field of Apparel Design
    • You are proficient with the Adobe Creative Suite: Illustrator, In Design, and Photoshop
    • You are skilled in CLO3D, or eager to learn
    • You can sew basic woven and knit garments, using an industrial single needle machine
    • You are an excellent team player, with the ability to take direction and work with minimal supervision towards a common goal
    • You are proactive in identifying the root cause of issues and developing solutions
    • You remain highly flexible and adaptable when faced with ambiguity
    • You effectively balance autonomy and collaboration
    • You inspire breakthrough thinking and continuous improvement
    • You seek the best (sometimes not the easiest) solutions, with an unwavering commitment to do what is right
    • Your passion for your work is paralleled by your passion for getting outside and living it
$44,700 - $55,100 a year
Individual pay is determined by factors such as program of study, year of study, job-related skills, and relevant experience.

Applications for this position will be accepted until February 2 at 9:00am PT.
