WPGA Summer Maintenance Assistant

WPGA is looking for recent grads to join our Facilities team as a Maintenance Assistant for the summer.

Great schools have great people—and behind the scenes, our Facilities team plays a key role in creating a safe, welcoming, and well-maintained environment for our school community.

This is a hands-on, active role for someone who enjoys practical work, being outdoors, and seeing the results of their efforts at the end of the day. 

As a Maintenance Assistant, you will support the day-to-day care and upkeep of our campus. You'll work both independently and as part of a team to ensure our facilities and outdoor spaces are clean, safe, and ready for the school year ahead.

What You'll Do

• Assist with general maintenance tasks across campus (e.g., basic repairs, inspections, upkeep)


• Support groundskeeping work, including lawn care, landscaping, and exterior maintenance


• Help move furniture and prepare spaces for upcoming school use


• Identify and report minor maintenance issues or safety concerns


• Support inventory and organization of tools and materials

About You

You are someone who:

• Takes pride in doing quality work and completing tasks reliably


• Enjoys hands-on work and being phsyically active


• Notices details and takes initiative when something needs attention


• Works well independently and as part of a team


• Brings a positive, respectful attitude to the workplace

Additional Details

• A valid driver's licence is an asset


• This role involves physical work, including lifting up to 50 lbs and outdoor activity


• A criminal record check will be required (coordinated by WPGA)
