Accountant

Job Description:

Guardian Life Insurance Company of America is seeking a part-time Accountant to join our team in Toronto, Ontario, Canada. As an Associate Level Accountant, you will be responsible for managing financial records, preparing financial statements, and analyzing financial data to help our company make informed business decisions.

Responsibilities: - Prepare and maintain financial records, including general ledger accounts, financial statements, and balance sheets - Analyze financial data and trends to assist in budgeting and forecasting processes - Reconcile bank statements and ensure accuracy of financial transactions - Assist with audits and financial reporting requirements - Provide financial analysis and insights to support decision-making processes - Collaborate with other departments to ensure compliance with financial policies and procedures - Perform ad-hoc financial analysis and reporting as needed

Requirements: - Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field - Minimum of 2 years of experience in accounting or finance - CPA designation is a plus - Strong knowledge of accounting principles and financial analysis - Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other financial software - Excellent communication and interpersonal skills - Confident and adaptable personality traits - Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills - Ability to work independently and as part of a team
