Hyatt Regency Vancouver is seeking a dedicated, professional, customer service-oriented individual to join the
Beverage team as a Part-time Bartender. Bartenders are responsible for providing libations and offering customized recommendations. The right person should be familiar with the latest in mixology, bar equipment, and sanitation standards, with a focus on maintaining an attractive bar. This position offers opportunity for casual conversation, creativity and allows for building on one's style and previous bartending experiences. Preferred candidates will have understanding of local serving guidelines. Candidates must be available for various shifts (morning and evenings as early as 10am and as late as 2am) weekdays, weekends and holidays. Serving it Right certificate is mandatory.
Starting wage is at$17.72 per hour plus gratuities, after 6 monthswage is at $20.68 per hour plus gratuities, and after a year of service wage is at $23.63 per hour plus gratuities. Visa Requirements: Must be legally eligible to work in Canada. The hotel is unable to assist candidates in obtaining Canadian work authorization. Qualifications Qualifications - Must have BC Serving It Right certificate
- Must have Food Safe Level 1 certificate
- Must be available to work various shifts which include weekends and holidays depending on business needs
- Must be available to work shifts that start at 10:00am and be able to work shifts that end at 2:00am
- Must have at least one year bartending experience in a hotel, restaurant or pub setting
- Previous customer service experience is a must
- Must be able to carry engaging conversations with all guests
- Previous cash handling experience preferred
- Must have good upselling skills
- Must be an excellent team player and be able to work and communicate with a diverse group of individuals
- Must be able to work with minimal supervision
- Must be able to make sound decisions and have a keen sense of judgment
- Must have an upbeat personality and remain positive and professional at all times
- Must have refined verbal communication skills
- Knowledge of a second language is considered an asset
Physical Aspects of Position (include but are not limited to): - Constant standing and walking throughout shift
- Frequent lifting and carrying up to 30 lbs.
- Occasional kneeling, pushing, pulling
- Occasional ascending or descending ladders, stairs and ramps
- Capable of performing repetitious duties
- Must be able to comply with all safety and sanitation procedures
- Must have a neat appearance and be well groomed
