Job Description:Job Description Hello, my name is Jake, I’m a 33 year old male living with ALS. I live with my wife Jackie and our dog Lou. We are looking to hire a couple part-time attendants with a positive attitude to help around the house. I’m am still able to walk (with a walker), feed myself, and live somewhat independently, but am needing help with more of life’s everyday chores and activities. I use a Program called Self-Managed Attendant Services, which is funded by the Ministry of Health and Long-Term Care. The Ministry gives me the money directly to hire my own attendants. There is no Agency. You work for me directly. I am the employer, and I will train you on how I like my routines to be done. This is a part time job. The starting salary is $23.00 per hour, with an additional $4/shift for travel. You would get paid every 2 weeks and all the standard deductions come off your pay cheque (CPP, EI and Income Tax). You are covered by WSIB.You will get your 4% vacation pay on every cheque, therefore, when you take holidays, you will not be paid. You will be paid for all public holidays (9) according to the Employment Standards Act, whether you work the holiday or not. Main job duties: Personal care (assistance showering, grooming, dressing) Stretching exercises Meal preparation, housekeeping, and laundry Assistance walking outside, playing with dog Occasional errands (pickup groceries, medication) Job Requirements: Experience with home healthcare & housekeeping Highly organized, hard working, and flexible Positive attitude Physically able to assist with lifting and transferring Must have own vehicle. Local to Orangeville area preferred. Available shifts: Monday & Friday - 8am-10am Tuesday & Thursday - 8am-Noon Wednesday - 10:30am-12:30pm Somewhat flexible on days and times. I’m hoping to hire multiple attendants, so each attendant would get 2-3 shifts per week. Job ID: 18172768
