Job Description - After School Care Leader

Glenlyon Norfolk School (GNS) is an independent day school from JK-12 that is a caring and thriving community. As one of fifteen IB World Continuum schools in Canada offering three International Baccalaureate Programmes, GNS is proud of its unique 'IB Advantage': a 21st-Century education which educates the whole child and creates global thinkers. 



Our beautiful new facilities and oceanfront backdrop is only a small measure of what makes us special. This picturesque location is enhanced by the quality of our curricula, the passion of our teachers and the energy and involvement of our students.  We are currently seeking exceptional candidates for the following opportunity:



After School Care Leader 


Monday - Friday | 1:00–5:45 p.m.


Start date: As soon as possible


$25/hour

In addition to this role, there is also an opportunity to work in our Camp Program as a Camp Leader. GNS offers camps during school breaks—including November, Winter, Spring, and Summer—providing additional ways to engage with children in a supportive, fun, and dynamic environment.

What You’ll Bring


The successful candidate will be a motivated, self-directed individual with excellent interpersonal and communication skills, able to build strong connections with students, parents, and colleagues. You will bring experience working with children in a camp, school, or educational setting, with supervisory experience considered an asset. Completion of the Responsible Adult course or equivalent experience is required, while an ECE certification would be considered an asset. Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the flexibility to adapt to changing needs are essential, along with the ability to handle sensitive situations with tact and diplomacy. Candidates must hold current First Aid and CPR certification (or be willing to obtain) and be at least 19 years of age.
