Alternate School Crossing Guard

The Corporation of the Town of Tecumseh is currently recruiting for a highly reliable individual to fill the position of Alternate Adult School Crossing Guard.

Job Summary
Alternate Adult School Crossing Guards are responsible for the safe movement of children to and from school when crossing public roadways and intersections by observing gaps in the traffic and safely leading the children across the roadway or intersection.

Alternate Adult School Crossing Guards are scheduled during the absence of an Adult School Crossing Guard (ie. vacation and personal leave).

Qualifications and Requirements
Candidates must have a minimum Grade 12 secondary school education. The ideal candidate will have previous experience working with children and the ability to deal effectively and courteously with the children and the general public.

Salary
The Town offers an hourly rate of $20.29 (2025), in accordance with the Collective Agreement with CUPE Local 702.13. This position is subject to a probationary period of sixty (60) days of work or one (1) year of service.
