InnovOak School is a private JK to Grade 12 school that values a clean, safe, and well maintained learning environment. As the sole occupant of our building, we are supporting the search process for a casual cleaner to assist the building with additional cleaning coverage. This is a fully casual relief position with no guarantee of hours and is best suited for someone who can adapt to being on call and is not relying on steady scheduling.

InnovOak believes that hard work, reliability, and consistency can lead to future opportunities. While this position is casual, it provides a way to introduce yourself and may lead to consideration for roles with more hours in the future.

Position Summary

The casual cleaner supports the overall cleaning needs of the building so the school is ready for students and staff the next day. The role requires independence, steady work habits, and the ability to follow routines and schedules.

Key Responsibilities

• Sweep, mop, and vacuum floors in classrooms, hallways, and shared spaces
• Clean and sanitize washrooms including toilets, sinks, counters, and mirrors
• Empty garbage and recycling and replace liners
• Disinfect high touch surfaces such as handles, switches, and railings
• Clean windows, furniture, and fixtures as needed
• Restock cleaning supplies and report low inventory or maintenance concerns
• Follow established cleaning procedures and safety guidelines
• Complete spot cleaning or additional tasks as required
• Assist with set up and clean up for events when scheduled
• Maintain pace and timing to ensure the building is fully ready for the next day

Skills and Expectations

• Able to work independently with indirect supervision
• Reliable, punctual, and able to stay on schedule
• Strong attention to detail and consistent cleaning standards
• Able to stay focused on duties and avoid distractions
• Self-motivated and able to maintain steady progress
• Experience in cleaning or janitorial work is an asset
• WHMIS knowledge is an asset
• Physically able to lift, carry, push, or pull items up to 50 lbs
• Able to follow direction and work respectfully with school staff
• Friendly and professional, especially when working in spaces with students and families

Additional Information

• Work takes place outside student hours
• Personal protective equipment will be provided when required
• A Vulnerable Sector Check and three references are required
