Contract Plant Operator

Airswift is working with one of our major Oil and Gas clients to find a Plant Operator to join their team in Spruce Lake Thermal facilities.

This is a Plant Operator position at different thermal facilities, which encompass water treating, high pressure steam generation, sour oil wells, and oil treating facilities. The role, under the Operations Senior Coordinator, involves safely and efficiently managing the facility to meet production targets.

The position is exposed to a 12-hour shift schedule and is rotational between day and night, which includes weekends and statutory holidays. Working conditions can be in variable environments: from height, confined spaces, noise, and harsh weather conditions. Competitive pay rate and benefits are offered.

Responsibilities

• Safe and efficient operation of a facility within a team in the operation
• Equipment maintenance and troubleshooting to achieve production goals
• Conditions monitoring, including sampling and testing
• Support and guidance to maintenance activities and contractors on policy adherence
• Training and assistance for new staff

The successful candidate needs to be well-organized, energetic, and service-oriented with the following qualifications

• Legally entitled to work in Canada
• Minimum 3rd Class Power Engineering Certificate, preference given to candidates making progress towards or having obtained a 2nd Class Power Engineering Certificate
• At least three years' experience in steam generation, oil processing, and related systems treatment
• Computer literate in computer applications such as Microsoft Office and SAP; working knowledge of field data capture systems
• Strong troubleshooting and mechanical skills
• Outstanding communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills
• Valid Class 5 Driver's License
• Compliance with the Drug and Alcohol Policy for a Safety-Sensitive Position

This position would require local/willing to relocate candidates.
