How You’ll Spend Your Day

As a Cook at the Deerfield Pub, you’ll play a vital role in delivering exceptional dining experiences to our guests. You’ll work across different stations, preparing dishes with precision, efficiency, and care. Your day-to-day will include:

• Preparing and cooking menu items to Deerfield Pub standards


• Working multiple stations during service, both independently and with teammates


• Assisting with daily prep for service and special events


• Ensuring line cook pars are stocked and ready before service


• Properly and safely using fryers, grills, ovens, and other kitchen equipment


• Completing opening and closing checklists


• Maintaining a clean and sanitized workspace at all times


• Following all food safety and sanitation procedures, including daily logs


• Supporting the team with additional kitchen duties such as prep and dishes when needed

What Will Help You Thrive

• Proven experience as a cook in a professional kitchen (1–2 years preferred)


• Strong ability to work in a fast-paced environment


• Comfortable taking direction and feedback while also working independently


• Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written


• Pride in your work and attention to quality and detail


• Ability to stay calm and focused under pressure


• Willingness to comply with food safety procedures at all times


• Physical ability to lift up to 50 lbs and stand for long periods

Additional Details

• Part-time and Full-time hourly positions available


• Evening, weekend, and holiday availability is expected


• Manual dexterity required for safe use of kitchen tools and equipment
