Course Description:
This course introduces the field of curriculum studies, including a historical approach to the discourses, debates and issues that have shaped it. Students will actively explore relationships between curriculum theory and professional as well as pedagogical practice.

Teaching Qualification Requirements (TQRs):
Éducation/Education:
PhD in Education/Curriculum Studies, or equivalent (in exceptional cases, PhD candidates or MA graduates / master teachers with extensive experience in the field of education will be considered).
Expérience/Experience:
Experience as a teacher, administrator, or consultant in the partnering school system for which this course is being delivered.
Experience teaching in the Quebec elementary school system
Previous successful experience teaching similar course(s) to pre-service teachers.
Previous successful experience teaching similar courses in Indigenous communities.
Experience developing curriculum, instructional approaches and/or policy grounded in Indigenous knowledge and pedagogies.
Autre/Other:
Adherence to evolving program requirements concerning course content and program-developed competencies; course content and references must reflect the most current advances in the field
Previous successful experience teaching similar course(s) at the graduate level
Knowledge of the impact and proven record integrating pedagogical approaches anchored to equity, diversity and inclusion
Familiarity using myCourses, ZOOM and other similar online platforms to facilitatequality teaching and learning experiences
Familiarity teaching blended classes is an asset
Familiarity with the application of a variety of digital teaching and learning tools
This course must be modified to the cultural, social and educational contexts of the community in which it is being given.
Must be available to attend course coordination and planning meeting minimum of 2 weeks in advance of the course start date
Preferred candidate will have demonstrated cultural awareness of and sensitivity to Indigenous issues in First Nations and Inuit contexts and connection to First Nations and Inuit communities.
