DSW ( Development Services Worker) position

We are seeking a compassionate, patient, and engaging Developmental Support Worker or Caregiver to support a young male/female client with  behaviours. Client may experience social anxiety and is looking for someone who can help  build confidence and enjoy social and recreational activities in the community.

We have 3 casual DSWs vacancy available .

• Pay $25.00 per hour

• Provide gentle encouragement and emotional support to help reduce social anxiety.
• Promote independence, social skills, and a positive self-image through meaningful interactions.
• Maintain professionalism, respect, and confidentiality at all times.

• Experience or education in Developmental Services, Personal Support Worker, Social Work, Psychology, nursing or a related field preferred.
• Previous experience supporting individuals with high behaviours, autism or social anxiety.
• Strong interpersonal, communication, and relationship-building skills.
• Reliable, patient, and compassionate.
• Assisting with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) and personal care including eating, dressing, transferring, toileting, hygiene, grooming, and bathing as per client's care plan.

• Providing cognitive, social, emotional, behavioral and spiritual support  
• Clear communication skills
• Monitoring care plan and adding detailed documentation with any changes and updates
• Responding to all emergency situations
• All other duties, as assigned

Key qualifications for this position will include, but are not limited to:

• DSW certification from a public college/learning center 
• Experience of over 2 years is *required**
• Access to a reliable vehicle and a valid drivers license
• Valid CPR/First Aid certification
• Completion of a Police Vulnerable Sector Check within last 6 months
• Safe Management Certificate 
• 2 Satisfactory professional references
• Ability to accurately follow written and verbal instructions
• Must be able to anticipate problems and use sound judgment and tact in handling confidential matters
