Job purpose
The Guest Services Representative (GSR) works with a team of professional staff that support the student leadership and goals of the organization. The GSR is responsible for ensuring each guest of the Athletic and Wellness Centre (AWC) has an exceptional experience by providing a high standard of service. The GSR has an interest in working in a dynamic, rapidly changing and busy environment.
This position requires the incumbent to work effectively and foster cooperative relationships with Student Leaders as part of a student focused organization
Working Hours: Monday to Friday 7:00 AM – 7:30 PM
Duties and responsibilities
Guest Services
Specific duties and responsibilities shall include, but not be limited to, the following:
· Provides professional services to members at all times in person, by telephone and/or email
· Processing guest check-ins and taking reservations in an accurate, timely and courteous manner
· Providing guests with clear, accurate information about the surrounding area
· Fielding guest questions and concerns
· Evaluating the needs of each customer and adapting service to meet those needs
· Generating maximum sales of memberships and all other products
· Keep supplies stocked at all times
· Folding and distributing towels
· Sign in/out equipment
· Ensures all equipment in fitness centre is in proper place and that the fitness centre floor is clear of obstructions
· Ensures that members are behaving in a safe manner that is conductive to the AWC Member’s Expectation agreement
· Creates a positive relationship and environment with all members and staff
· Ensures CCSAI facilities reflect a professional image
Administrative Duties
· Must be available to work as early as 7:00am, as late as 10:30pm and weekends
· Assigned hours will vary based on the demand of business needs
· Attend AWC monthly staff meetings and other required department meetings and training sessions
· Manages all client files and ensures information is up to date and accurate
· Other duties as assigned by the Guest Services Coordinator or the Manager AWC
Qualifications
Education: Equivalent of a High School Education Required
Must have a valid SIN# (minimum 6 months to expiry)
Experience: Experience in providing a high standard of customer services.
Specialized Knowledge: Proficient in use of technology- computer, email and fitness facilities management software Current CPR & AED certification, First Aid
Skills & Abilities:
· Experience with cash/POS
· Excellent oral and written interpersonal and communication skills.
· Ability to follow instructions precisely and accurately
· Proven time management, organizational, critical thinking and interpersonal skills.
· Ability to work in a team environment, as well as independently and with minimum supervision.
· Professional work ethic, ability to exercise good judgment, positive attitude tact and initiative.
· Customer focused, flexible and adaptable. Ability to build strong relationships and the desire to learn and grow.
· Ability to multitask in a high-pressured environment.
