Operations Driver

Association for New Canadians is a non-profit, community-based organization dedicated to the provision of settlement and integration services for immigrants and refugees. 

Job Title: Operations Driver 

Location: St. John’s, NL 

Position Type: 1 part-time position (20 Hours per week) until March 31, 2026, with possibility of extension pending budget availability and satisfactory performance 

Working hours: Monday – Friday, 7:30am – 9:30am and 1:15pm – 3:15pm 

Closing date: Until filled  

Reporting to the Transportation Coordinator, the Operations Driver is responsible for the transportation requests to transfer clients to various locations for appointments and classes. The Driver will provide support by completing the tasks assigned and ensuring timely delivery of all tasks. 

Roles and Responsibilities: 

• Transportation of clients to and from various locations 

• Pick and drop service of groups of clients to and from their respective ESL classes at
  different locations 

• Various transportation and logistical needs as  

• Capacity to work outside core hours  

• Other duties as assigned 

Qualifications and Experience: 

• Legal authorization to work in Canada 

• Must have valid class 2 driver’s license (required) 

• Minimum of 3 years driving experience 

• Must have a clean driver’s abstract 

• Must be able to lift 50 pounds 

• Digital literacy is an asset 

Conditions of Employment: 

• Legal authorization to work in Canada  

• Must be able to start immediately (required) 

• Must be able to work Monday – Friday, 7:30am – 9:30am and 1:15pm – 3:15pm 

• Flexible to work outside of core hours if  (Monday-Friday, 9:00am – 5:00pm) 

• Valid class 2 NL driver’s license and able to provide driver’s abstract 

• Position is subject to a satisfactory Criminal Record Screening and Vulnerable Sector Check from the Royal Newfoundland Constabulary 

• Valid First Aid Certificate is an asset 

• Must have own transportation to and from work
