• Unloads freight from inbound trailers

• Distributes freight to local P&D Brokers

• Marks materials with identifying information

• Records amounts of materials or items received or distributed

• Counts and on occasion is required to weigh items to ensure conformance to the shipper's bill of lading

• Starts reefers, placards trailers as required

• Arranges freight in specified sequence for maximum usage of trailer space

• May drive vehicle/tow motor to transport stored items from dock warehouse to the trailer

• Assembles specific types of equipment such as stake and rack trailers and covering with a vinyl or canvas tarpulan

• Must take an active role in safety and maintenance of the warehouse by sweeping the floor, proper storage of dunnage, etc.

• This job has no supervisory responsibilities

• Other duties may be assigned

• Strong math skills including ability to add, subtracts, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, decimals as well as ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent 

• WHIMS/Dangerous Goods Certificate/ Tow motor certificate ( These items are covered with in-house training programs)
