Hours: Saturday & Sunday, 6:30 PM – 6:30 AM
Overtime: Averaging Agreement (AA)

Overview

Paladin Security is seeking a Part-time Security Guard to join our team at St. Clair College – Thames Campus Residence. This role plays a critical part in maintaining the safety and security of the residence community, ensuring a welcoming and secure environment for students, visitors, and staff.

As a Paladin Security Guard, you will perform regular patrols, respond to incidents, and handle emergencies with professionalism and composure. You will be supported by Paladin’s renowned training programs, industry-leading standards, and a company culture that values growth and teamwork.

Responsibilities

• Assist and Support: Provide assistance to visitors and employees during crises and contact emergency services as required.
• Ensure Property Safety: Confirm that all safety and security systems are functioning effectively.
• Proactive Patrols: Conduct regular interior and exterior patrols, address policy breaches, and document facility concerns.
• Incident Response: Respond promptly and professionally to alarms, disturbances, and emergencies without causing panic.
• De-escalation and Liaison: Calmly de-escalate crises and coordinate with police, fire, or paramedic personnel when needed.
• Lost & Found: Manage lost and found inquiries and maintain accurate records.
• Medical Response: Provide first aid and emergency care as required.
• Professional Relations: Maintain positive relationships with college staff, students, and visitors by offering timely, accurate support.
• Team Support: Perform duties as assigned by the Security Leadership team and adhere to all client directives.

• Valid Ontario Security Guard License
• Valid First Aid & CPR Level C from a WSIB-approved provider
• Valid G Class Driver’s License
• Fluent English communication skills (oral and written)
• Not currently enrolled as a student of St. Clair College
• 3 years of experience in security preferred
• Legally authorized to work in Canada
• Willingness to obtain Use of Force (UoF) and Management of Aggressive Behavior (MOAB) certifications if not already held
• Training is unpaid but fully covered by Paladin with a 6-month commitment to the position
