Personal Support Worker (PSW)

We are seeking PSWs for working in community in Orillia. We are seeking part-time individuals who are able to commit to working bi-weekly weekend shifts. Occasional extra shifts will be available for pick-up during the week. 

Job Benefits:

• Competitive pay at $21.00 per hour

The successful candidate’s areas of responsibility will include, but are not limited to, the following:

• Providing resident-focused care that meets the needs of residents
• Maintaining open communication with residents and their families
• Assisting with personal care including eating, dressing, transferring, toileting, hygiene, grooming, and bathing as per residents’ care plans
• Monitoring and noting any changes to patient care plans
• Transportation maybe required to take clients to medical ap
• Providing medication support and management
• Providing cognitive, social, emotional, and spiritual support  
• Providing oral and dental care  
• Responding to all emergency situations
• All other duties, as assigned

Key qualifications for this position will include, but are not limited to:

• PSW certification (NACC certificate required if graduated from a private college)
• Valid driving license and insurance
• Valid CPR certificate
• Completion of Police Vulnerable Sector Check within last 6 months
• Satisfactory professional references
• A minimum of 1 year experience working in community
• Ability to accurately follow written and verbal instructions
• Must be able to anticipate problems and use sound judgment and tact in handling confidential matters
