Job Opportunity: Procurement Specialist (Part-Time Contract)

We are seeking an experienced Procurement Specialist to support the setup of a cutting-edge laboratory in South San Francisco (SSF). This role is essential in managing procurement processes for capital expenditures, accessories, and consumables while establishing supplier relationships and ensuring smooth operations. This role is located in Vancouver British Columbia where our R&D labs are located.

Key Responsibilities:

Reporting to the Manager of procurement and partnering with the research and development teams and other internal stakeholders, the consultant will support the identification, assessment, bid analysis, selection, and negotiation of strategic sourcing activities from RFP through to contract execution in support of the company’s growing R&D capabilities. The consultant will be experienced in supplier relationship management and developing creative solutions to achieve timely results.  

Qualifications:

• Proven experience in procurement or supply chain management
• Ability to manage vendor relationships and navigate contracts efficiently
• Strong organizational and documentation skills
• Prior experience in lab procurement is a plus
• Biotech or pharmaceutical expertise is preferred
   

Details & Compensation:

• Part-time contract: 20 hours per week
• Duration: Q3 to end of Q4 (estimated)
• Rate: $40 - $48 CAD
