Job Description - T-4663 Teacher Librarian, CLE/CLC

All teachersmust be prepared to use a variety of technology for planning, attendancemonitoring, communicating classroom instruction and reporting, and be preparedto support the School Improvement Plan and District goals through Indigenousways of knowing, being and doing and the Four Blankets of Resilience. Teaching Certificate; • universitytraining, or its equivalent, relevant to the posted position; and, • successfulteaching experience relevant to the posted position. Term, September 3, 2024 toJune 27, 2025 HOWE SOUND SECONDARY SCHOOL The successful candidatemust: · possess a Diploma in Education – Teacher Librarianship;· have completed specific course work in inquiry-based learning,collaborate planning and teaching, information literacy, curriculum design andimplementation, multi-media resources, and learning technologies;· have successful experience as a Teacher Librarian or Learning CommonsTeacher;· be prepared to assume a literacy leadership role in collectiondevelopment and management, promoting reading and supporting a school’sliteracy strategies;· have training/experience in the use of Quality Assessment practices;and,· have experience in differentiating and providing inclusive learningopportunities that reflect the unique needs of students;· be familiar with the BC Student Performance Standards and new BCCurriculum and Competencies; and,· have experience working in multi-age/grade groupings. Salary range : $60,015 per year to $109,520 per year, based on category asassigned by the Teachers’ Qualification Service (TQS) and previous teachingexperience If applying for more than one position, pleasenote order of preference.
