Descripción del trabajo - Packaging Sales Representative

Location: Grand Rapids, MI (Home Base) with Territory in SW Michigan, Northern Indiana, and Chicago Areas .

Company Overview: We are seeking a dynamic and results-driven Sales Representative to join our team. The ideal candidate will be passionate about sales, possess excellent communication skills, and have a strong desire to succeed. This role offers the opportunity to represent our company's products/services and drive revenue growth.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement sales strategies to achieve or exceed sales targets
  • Identify and pursue new business opportunities through prospecting and networking
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with existing and potential customers
  • Conduct product demonstrations and presentations to showcase the benefits of our offerings
  • Maintain accurate records of sales activities, customer interactions, and progress towards targets
  • Negotiate contracts and agreements with clients to close sales and secure long-term partnerships
  • Collaborate with other departments to ensure a seamless customer experience
  • Stay updated on industry trends, market conditions, and competitor activities
  • Prepare accurate sales forecasts and reports for budgeting and management review

Qualifications

  • Proven business to business track record of success in sales
  • Strong negotiation and persuasion skills
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Proficiency in computer skills, business acumen & relevant sales software/tools
  • Candidates with experience in packaging sales and/or corrugated box industry preferred

Other Expectations:

  • Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, costs, proportions, percentages and volume
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as sales reports, operating instructions, training manuals and procedure manuals. Ability to write reports and correspondence. Ability to speak and communicate clearly and effectively
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral and graphic form

Physical Demands:

  • Employee is regularly required to walk, talk, hear, stand, drive and sit.
  • Close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to focus are vision requirements
  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is fr equently exposed to wet and/or humid conditions, moving mechanical parts, and fumes or airborne particles. The noise level in the work environment is usually loud.
  • The employee frequently drives to/from customers and prospects and may experience hazardous driving conditions.

Performance Measurements: The performance of the sales representative will be measured as follows

  • Operating Standards: The employee will need to meet or exceed the Operating Standards set in the area of sales and customer service. Such standards will be set annually and communicated to the representative
  • Personal growth: each year, there will be professional goals developed and agreed to by the representative and manager
  • Employee Relations: the employee will be evaluated regarding behaviors associated with appropriate human interaction, respect and communication
  • Creativity: This will be evaluated by how active the employee is in participating in advancing the business through new and innovative ideas.
