Fluence Digital’s IQ platform uses artificial intelligence, advanced price forecasting, portfolio optimization and market bidding to ensure energy storage and flexible generation assets are optimally participating in wholesale electricity markets.ABOUT THIS POSITIONLocation: Santiago, ChileThis position will be within the Fluence Digital Sales team. The Sales Engineer Manager will play an important role in selling Fluence Digital products, focused on serving the Renewable Energy industry, across Latin America. Target of Fluence Digital’s software technology is to optimize Renewable Energy assets leveraging on fully automated data acquisition, analysis and computational algorithms powered by artificial intelligence.As Sales Engineer, you will closely work with Business Development Managers, approaching potential customers and presenting solutions and services. You will be able to address and suggest solutions through our solutions to generate value for customers. For this purpose, you will have a deep understanding of the energy market, operations and performance of the renewable assets.The role will be based in Fluence’s Santiago office and will report into the Digital Sales/Business Development team, with close interaction with subject matter experts, product managers and marketing team to shape the evolution of our company and the future of the renewable assets’ performance management.Key responsibilities include:•Assist Business Development Managers, remotely or in-person, to help qualify opportunities and deliver product demonstrations and presentations.•Educate current and potential clients on the benefits of Fluence’s solutions as they relate to the Renewable Energy market.•Work closely and collaboratively with Product Managers and Marketing to create and maintain sales collateral (, presentations, proposals, sell sheets, training, RFP and other tender documents, etc.) that resonate with our customer and prospects.•Train and support the coaching of the sales team ongoing in understanding Fluence’s solutions and in delivering excellent product demonstrations.•Summarize customer’s technical perspective to assist Sales, Marketing, Product and Technology to understand the voice of the customer, the users’ perspectives, the problems they seek to solve in order to address the development of the product.

What will our ideal candidate bring to Fluence?

  • MSc in Mechanical or Electrical or Chemical Engineering
  • Academic experience with renewable energy, working experience a plus
  • Be a critical conduit between Fluence’s clients/targets and Fluence’s Sales, Marketing, Product Development and Technology teams to help all parties better understand the commercial Renewable Energy industry and the data, tools, and methods to solve industry problems
  • Business travel may be up to 30% to provide in-person support with field sales initiatives regionally and on occasion, globally.
  • Ability to convey complex matters in simple business-friendly terms
  • Strong interpersonal skills as well as be organized, meticulous, creative, and bring a desire to tackle challenges as an opportunity to develop new skills and contribute to company objectives and growth
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, especially in client-facing contexts - must be highly comfortable working with people across several organizations
  • Passionate about learning, and tackling new and exciting technical challenges 
  • MS Office expertise, including strong PowerPoint skills are a must, Python, BI tools and SQL a plus
