A Director of Sales manages the hotel sales andmarketing plans by recommending growth efforts, monitoringprogress, and ensuring that the hotel is competitively positionedwithin the local marketplace. What will I be doing? As Director ofSales, you are responsible for working closely with the SeniorManagement Team to drive business needs and expand existingbusiness through promotional efforts and sales channels. A Directorof Sales will work to develop the sales group and groom ahigh-performing sales team. Specifically, you will be responsiblefor performing the following tasks to the highest standards: -Manage hotel sales and marketing plans to ensure they accuratelyinterpret and support the objectives of the business and use theseplans to focus the sales efforts for all market segments - Workclosely with the Senior Management Team to identify and drivefocused activities on elements of the business that requireadditional support - Prepare company contracts for the hotel inaccordance with current business and pricing conditions - Monitoroffers, options and discounts for repeat bookings for groups,congresses and seminars in close cooperation with the GroupCoordinator - Develop the group team through leadership and byexample to include sales development; participate in the hiring ofteam members, and their future success - Direct and manage theforecasting process in conjunction with the Revenue Department toinsure accurate, timely and complete information. Compile and/ordirect the preparation of reports pertaining to the operation ofthe Sales Department to include, but not limited to the annual andmonthly Forecast, Lead Management System, and Booking Reportsv -Actively participate and complete the preparation of the annualSales and Market Plan, quarterly updates, and the complexed hotels'annual Budgets. Execute initiatives as outlined; swiftly implementstrategies/tactics to offset changes in markets, economy or drivenby the competitive set. Organize and/or attend scheduled group andrelated meetings - Contribute to the development of company salesand marketing initiatives by recommending, implementing andmonitoring appropriate local activity - Organise comprehensiveinformation describing the range of products and services offeredby the hotel and deliver this information through relevant salesresources and sales channels to existing and potential Guests -Produce accurate and timely reports that meet the needs of thehotel and the management company - Prepare and present, on amonthly basis, the contribution, focus and activity of theproactive sales team to the hotel owners and senior management team- Cooperate with other departments in the hotel, particularlyReservations and the Banqueting Department, to create anexceptional Guest experience and build strong, comprehensive salesprograms - Contribute to relevant management meetings to developand implement sales and marketing initiatives What are we lookingfor?
