BA Wind is responsible for the development, construction and operation of wind power onshore and offshore as well as other non-hydro renewable activities like solar and batteries. We manage the maintenance, operation and continuous improvement of wind generation assets, safely and with the highest levels of availability and profitability. We also perform the structuring and execution of project partnerships in accordance with our overall wind strategy.

Business Unit Offshore is responsible to manage and operate all Offshore wind parks as well as Offshore wind projects with regards to development, construction and execution within the Region Continental/UK.

Do you want to shape the future?

We are looking for a Senior Engineer, for Transport and Installation (T&I) of Offshore Cable to work within our Business Area Wind, Offshore Wind.

You will be part of the T&I Development and Engineering team within Construction & Logistic, working closely together with the Offshore Installation Manager and also supporting T&I Project Portfolio Director, T&I development managers, interfacing with Vattenfall’s Project Teams and first class Installation Contractors.

The Construction & Logistics Department is responsible for the development of transport and installation concepts of our future windfarms as well as is providing the technical know-how with regards to T&I on all our offshore projects in execution.
Hence, we are setting the standards and guidelines as well as being embedded within our projects, from the development and offshore construction phase to the offshore decommissioning stage

Your main tasks and responsibilities as Senior Engineer, T&I Offshore Cable:

 

• Being the technical interface towards the Offshore Installation Contractors.
• During prequalification and ITT delivery, support the procurement process regarding:
  • Project Specific content to be included in the Employer’s Requirements for the relevant scope including installation specifications and requirements.
  • Support the technical contract negotiations and ensure that the Employer’s Requirements, interface documents and Conditions of Contract are developed into contract versions,
  • Review, compare, evaluate and final acceptance of method statements risk assessments, safety procedures and design reports recommending additional analytical considerations if necessary.
• Support the Installation Manager, manage day-to-day coordination, document review and communicate with the contractor, MWS, Client Representatives etc.
• Support the lessons learned process ensuring that corrective actions are both documented and implemented.
• Keep abreast of technical developments to ensure that Vattenfall’s technical standards remain current.

qualifications

and personal skills as Senior Engineer, T&I Offshore Cables :

The successful candidate is likely to have :

• A graduate degree Mechanical Engineering, Naval Architecture or have equivalent professional experience . A relevant second degree qualification ,as well as professional chartership through a recognised Institution, may also be beneficial;
• 5-7 years relevant experience working Offshore Transport & Installation of cables, umbilical’s or flex pipes including 
  • Knowledge about offshore installation vessels, installation tools & methodologies and relevant offshore codes and standards.
  • Experience with marine risk management and Marine Warranty Surveying process.
  • Contractual understanding, and negotiating experience.
• The ability to apply sound judgement to make decisions in challenging situations;
• Highly motivated and communicative person who is able to focus on both people and business;

• A good command of the English language, both spoken and written.

Location:

The assigned Vattenfall location can be one or either, Kolding (DK), Amsterdam (NL), London (UK) or Hamburg (DE).

The successful candidate will need to have the right to work in the office location you apply for.

Travel:

This position is primarily office based, however travel will be required according to the requirements of specific projects and developments.

You will have to be prepared to work from the office.
