What to Expect
As a Machine Learning Engineer, you’ll join a recently established team at Corti focused on a single product, Corti Code . Corti Code assists healthcare staff with tedious administrative work allowing them to spend more time practicing medicine and caring for patients.

You will be part of a skilled and mission-driven group of product managers, software engineers, and machine learning engineers responsible for building Corti’s answer to the complexities of medical coding. We are developing a product that ensures quality healthcare for all patients and we believe everything should start from well-documented patient data!

Using natural language processing (NLP) and machine learning (ML) approaches, you will build accurate (multi-label) text classification models and develop novel algorithms. You’ll get the chance to work on both ML modeling and ML operations as part of a product team that values ML engineering best practices.

We are located in a beautiful office, next to Nyhavn in central Copenhagen, Denmark. Coffee breaks have a whole new meaning when you can take them next to the canals! ? If you are not based in Copenhagen, we are also hybrid- and remote-friendly . The impact you’ll have:

• Driving the development of an ML-focussed product in collaboration with customers and other members of the product team
• Hands-on development of an early-stage solution where ML modeling and design choices matter
• Translate ML research and ideas into tangible product outcomes
• Collaborate across our product and ML research teams to bring new ML research innovation to patients worldwide
• Work with colleagues across teams in our ML guild and via code reviews
• The opportunity to mentor junior colleagues

To thrive in this role, you'll need the following:

• A higher university degree or Ph.D. in computer science, computer engineering, mathematics, statistics, physics, biomedicine, or a related interdisciplinary field.
• 3+ years of experience writing production-ready ML code in Python.
• In-depth knowledge of one or more of the major machine learning frameworks, e.g. PyTorch.
• Hands-on experience with natural language processing.
• Ability to manage machine learning projects and communicate outcomes to technical and non-technical audiences.
• A passion for writing clean and efficient code.
• Excellent English verbal and written communication skills

Bonus experience:

• Publication history in machine learning that shows that you can drive projects from ideation to outcomes.
• MLOps experience training and monitoring machine learning models in the cloud.
• Hands-on experience with automatic speech recognition
