How to contribute to our vision
Join Siemens Gamesa as our new Field Resource Manager, leading our dedicated Blade Supervisor team in the dynamic Onshore Service Region covering Northern Europe and the Middle East. In this pivotal managerial role, you will guide a specialized mobile unit comprising approximately 15 expert Blade Supervisors and a Resource Coordinator. Your leadership will ensure the availability of specialist blade repair resources and manage site operations for our Major Project blade campaigns and ad hoc blade damage remedies across the onshore fleet.

As the primary managerial contact for this specialized resource within the Field Resource Management team, you will routinely engage with Major Projects' Project Managers and local Operations teams. Collaboration with other key stakeholders in Procurement and Resource Management and Planning teams within the Service business unit is essential.

You will collaborate with Field Resource Managers overseeing Service and Heavy Lift Technicians, reporting directly to the Regional Field Resource Manager.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Safety Leadership: Drive and embed a home-safe culture throughout all levels of the organization.
  • Resource Management: Oversee the workload, scope, and resource levels of the Blade Supervisor team to ensure strategic alignment with project demands and operational needs.
  • Team Leadership: Provide direct line management for the Blade Supervisor team, including recruitment, target setting, individual development, coaching, and performance appraisals.
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Establish and maintain crucial senior relationships across Service Operations and Major Projects to enhance collaboration and service delivery.
  • Strategic Planning: Collaborate with the Technical Blade Experts to maintain and drive the regional strategy for the Blade Supervisor team, adapting to fluctuating demands and ensuring cost-effective resource allocation.
  • Budget Management: Oversee the team’s annual budget in collaboration with the commercial organization, ensuring financial targets and operational objectives are met.
  • Performance Metrics: Maintain and report key performance indicators for team effectiveness and operational efficiency to management.
  • Continuous Improvement: Regularly review and enhance team processes and practices to increase productivity and service quality.

In this role, your leadership will not only direct the operational excellence of our blade services but also shape the future of renewable energy by ensuring the highest standards of blade repair and maintenance are met consistently.

What You Need to Make a Difference:
Passion for renewable energy and a strong drive to lead the change are crucial in this role. We are seeking a dynamic leader with:

  • Proven Leadership Skills: Extensive experience in managing diverse teams, with a focus on developing people and achieving high performance. Your leadership should inspire and motivate, ensuring high engagement and retention within your team.
  • Strategic Stakeholder Management: Ability to effectively interact with a range of stakeholders, demonstrating strong relationship-building skills. Your role requires balancing various needs and prioritizing actions in alignment with our strategic goals.
  • Operational and Commercial Acumen: Experience managing budgets and understanding cost centers, with the capability to deliver projects within financial targets. Your decision-making will be supported by a solid understanding of commercial drivers and market conditions.
  • Technical Oversight and Knowledge: While familiarity with blade repair or wind turbine maintenance is beneficial, your primary role will be to manage technical teams and oversee project execution effectively.
  • High Emotional Intelligence: Excellent interpersonal skills to navigate complex interactions and foster a culture of teamwork and respect. You should be adept at reading situations and adjusting your approach to suit different audiences.
  • Commitment to Safety and Quality: Unwavering commitment to maintaining the highest safety and quality standards in all operational aspects. Your leadership will ensure compliance with all health, safety, and environmental regulations.
  • Innovative Thinking and Problem Solving: A forward-thinking approach to continuously improve our processes. You are expected to bring fresh ideas and perspectives that challenge the status quo and drive efficiency.
  • Adaptability and Resilience: The capacity to adapt to changing business needs and remain effective under pressure. Your role demands flexibility to manage fluctuating demands and occasional travel to various sites.

This role is your opportunity to be part of a global team dedicated to impactful and sustainable energy solutions. If you're passionate about leading a team that enhances the operations and maintenance of wind turbine blades, Siemens Gamesa could be ideal for you.

Qualifications:

  • Experience: Significant management experience in the wind energy sector, with a focus on overseeing technical teams.
  • Leadership Skills: Strong leadership capabilities with a track record in managing and developing teams.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent communication skills with fluency in English required; additional languages beneficial.
  • Driver’s License: Valid driver's license required for travel-related duties.
  • Work Authorization: Must be legally authorized to work in the designated region and available for occasional travel.

In return of your commitment, we offer you:
To become a part of our mission for sustainability: clean energy for generations to come. We are a global team of diverse colleagues who share a passion for renewable energy and have a culture of trust and empowerment to make our own ideas a reality. We focus on personal and professional development to grow internally within our organization.
