Job Description - Aero Electrical Engineer TM2500 / LM6000 / LM2500

We are seeking an experienced TM2500, LM2500, and LM6000 Aero Electrical Engineer to join Prismecs. As an Aero Electrical Engineer, you will be at the forefront of ensuring the effective operation, maintenance, and repair of equipment and facilities in power generation plants. This role requires a strong background in electrical engineering, particularly in systems associated with aerospace and gas turbine technology. Responsibilities include the operation, testing, and maintenance of electrical systems for TM2500, LM2500, and LM6000 units to ensure optimal performance, reliability, and efficiency. Reporting directly to the Plant Manager, the Aero Electrical Engineer will contribute to the overall maintenance and operation of the power generation plant.

Location: This job is located on-site at a customer location.


Responsibilities



  • Responsible for the Installation, commissioning, Inspection, Maintenance and Operation of Electrical & Control System, DC Voltage System, High Voltage, Medium Voltage system and Low voltage system.

  • Perform Operation and Maintenance activities related to auxiliary equipment of TM2500, LM2500, and LM6000 Gas Turbine like, TLO system, GLO system and MCC Switchgear

  • Execute maintenance to Bop Equipment’s like Gas and Diesel Gensets ABB, L&T, Schnieder Switchgears, Substation Equipment’s, Medium Voltage equipment’s along with their auxiliary and control systems.

  • Proactively participate in the PRISMECS and global industry Energy health, safety, and environment program.

  • Execute preventive and corrective works and maintenance in facilities and equipment according to OEM manuals, industry best practices, procedures, policies, and guidance from the Plant Manager.

  • Responsible for daily updates on the maintenance history of plant facilities and equipment in logbooks, reports, and digital files.

  • Maintain and develop operation and maintenance plans for medium and low voltage electrical systems.

  • Work with ANDRITZ Generators and related control systems. Maintain AVR2100e operation and maintenance as per OEM requirements.

  • Develop procedures for and conduct routine inspection, troubleshooting, testing, and analysis of protection systems, transformation equipment, HV, and MV maneuver equipment.

  • Propose maintenance activities to the Plant Manager with sufficient anticipation (allow the coordination with the Operations department and get the approval to execute the works without impacting the plant availability).

  • Support and train the operation staff for correct plant operations.

  • Provide mentoring and coaching for correct plant operations (in coordination with the Plant Manager).

  • Always be available to address any emergency resulting from equipment failure.

  • Propose lists of essential parts, consumables, tools, and materials (report it to the Plant Manager who will establish the list of the minimum necessary materials and make the request to the proper department).

  • Responsible for prompt communication of any incidents, accidents, injuries, environmental violations, equipment failures, or damage during shifts.

  • Execute scheduled work during control room shifts, including operating SCADA, Protection and Control Systems, preventive routine inspections, and general facilities maintenance.

  • Ensure housekeeping, energy conservation guidelines, and environmental regulations compliance.

  • Contribute to team effort, supporting other areas of the plant to achieve established goals.

  • Capable of working in a multicultural and multidisciplinary work environment.

  • Consult with the Plant Manager over major technical issues and work planning (must be capable of performing his duties with minimum supervision).

  • Ensure the correct use and care of tools and auxiliary equipment by all the personnel at the site.

  • Participate in the Root Cause Analysis (RCA) applicable and provide all the information available under his responsibility.

Field Service Engineers with knowledge of:



  • Gas Turbines

  • Generators

  • Electric Motors & Pumps

  • Instruments

  • Servomechanisms

  • Actuators

  • Fire-Fighting systems

  • Machinery knowledge


Qualifications



  • Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering, Mechatronics Engineering, or a related field experience. A master’s degree is a plus.

  • Relevant professional certifications (e.g., Professional Engineer (PE) license) are a plus.

  • English proficiency (reading, writing, and speaking).

  • Minimum 3 years of work experience in power generation plants of GE LM2500, LM6000 and TM2500 Gen 8 plus Gen 4, 6, 7, 8 Gas Turbines. Basic knowledge of RX3i is required.

  • Experience with Toolbox AVR Software and Power System modeling packages (SKM, ETAP, EazyPower, CYME, etc.). Proficiency in electrical design software (e.g., AutoCAD Electrical, EPLAN).

  • Knowledge of engineering standards (CSA, NEC, NESC, IEEE, and ANSI).

  • CMMS system knowledge and experience.

  • Microsoft Windows and Microsoft Office Knowledge.

  • HSE General Basic Knowledge. Knowledge of ISO 9001, ISO 14000, and OHSAS 18001 (a plus).
