Job Description - Business Analyst - 3 Months Contract
We are seeking an experienced professional with a strong understanding of cost and revenue allocation practices within European and UK banking environments. The role involves designing, deploying, and overseeing frameworks that support transparent, robust, and regulation-compliant profitability and business model risk management.
Key Responsibilities
1. Design and Implementation of Cost and Revenue Allocation Frameworks Provide industry-aligned practices for establishing and implementing a cost and revenue allocation framework for customers and products, including:
Definition of key roles and responsibilities
Design of governance structures and critical processes
Implementation of ex-ante and ex-post controls and exception handling procedures
2. Methodology for Cost Measurement and Allocation Develop and advise on options for:
Measuring, monitoring, and reporting cost allocations
Ensuring traceability between allocated costs and pricing
Linking transaction-level cost data to profitability and economic analysis
3. Integration of IFRS 9 Parameters Define methods to incorporate IFRS 9 parameters into:
Pricing tools
Economic profit models
Multi-year horizon financial planning
4. Second Line of Defence (2LoD) Risk Oversight Definition Clearly define the role of the 2LoD risk function in:
Providing independent oversight over the Group-wide cost and revenue allocation framework
First Line of Defence (1LoD), including Finance and Business representatives
Second Line of Defence (2LoD), including Financial Risk Management & Control (FRM&C) teams Purpose: to review and assess industry practice options and their applicability in the client's specific context
6. Oversight Activities Support and perform oversight responsibilities related to:
Implementation of business model risk and profitability frameworks
Independent challenge and validation of allocation methodologies
Review of controls and exception handling practices
Deep familiarity with cost and revenue allocation frameworks in European and UK banking environments
Strong understanding of applicable financial regulations (e.g., IFRS, EBA guidelines, PRA expectations)
Proven experience in defining and implementing governance, controls, and oversight for profitability and cost allocation processes
Desirable Skills and Experience
Knowledge of the client’s internal processes and systems
Experience in facilitating multi-stakeholder workshops in complex financial environments
