Are you a Registered Nurse looking to use your clinical expertise in an international environment while living on the Spanish coast?
We are currently recruiting Danish-speaking nurses on behalf of our client, a global travel assistance provider supporting travellers around the world when medical incidents occur abroad.
In this role, you will combine your medical knowledge, communication skills, and decision-making ability to support travellers in need, helping coordinate care, assess medical situations, and guide patients during challenging moments.
This is an opportunity to move beyond traditional hospital work and gain experience within international medical assistance, travel health, and insurance medicine while living in Torrevieja on Spain’s Mediterranean coast.
The Role
As a Medical Case Handler / Registered Nurse, you will support travellers who experience illness or accidents while abroad.
You will be responsible for assessing medical situations, coordinating care, and ensuring travellers receive the appropriate assistance.
Your responsibilities include:
Handling incoming medical assistance cases via phone and email
Performing initial medical assessments and triage
Coordinating medical assistance with clinics, hospitals, and local providers
Communicating with patients, relatives, and healthcare professionals
Reviewing medical reports and documentation
Assessing treatment needs and insurance coverage when relevant
Providing medical guidance and support to travellers
Supporting and advising assistance coordinators on medical matters
EU-recognized Registered Nurse qualification
Minimum 3 years of clinical nursing experience
Fluent Danish (spoken and written)
Strong English communication skills
Spanish is considered a plus
Experience from insur ance, travel medicine, or international healthcare is an advantage
Experience supporting or training colleagues is beneficial
Clean criminal record
