Data Centre ICT Technician / ICT Rack & Stack Technician

The main purpose of this role is to manage the migration of ICT infrastructure and ICT operations into our new Co-Location Data Center in Copenhagen.

Key Responsibilities

• Procurement of Racks; PDU’s; Cold-Isle Containments; Power Whips; Cable Trays
• Co-ordinating the Installation of all of the above (with various Suppliers; Contractors)
• Co-ordinating designing of Structured Cabling environment
• Co-ordinating the build and implementation of Structured Cabling environment
• Co-ordinating (correct) Power (A&B-Feed) is installed / available to Racks, as per design
• Prepare new Storage Room ie. emergency Cables, Supplies on Stock
• Managing new and ongoing security access with new Supplier
• Set-up new Office area at the new Site
• Receiving and analysing work requests for all Migrations (Installation – new Site; Decommission -existing Site)
• Co-ordinating the migration with Suppliers and CAB’s (Customers for downtime, if required)
• Submitting SNOW tickets (Change Requests)
• Representing changes at the CAB (Changer Request board)
• Planning of the placement of Racks, devices within the Racks
• Co-ordinating installation with Contractors and Suppliers
• Co-ordinating the Cable procurement process
• Receiving Cables, handing over correct cable types to the Suppliers for specific installations
• Pre- installation checks (very important to ensure correct capacity (Floor space, Power; Cooling): (see appendix-1)
• Implementation: Managing the work quality of the contractors performing the installations. Being available over after/hours (weekends) to co-ordinate installations
• Initiating escorting process and including escorting of Suppliers (Contractors are not allowed to escort due to security constraints)
• Performing ongoing Operational Support work at the new Site, as well as existing Sites
• Removal of sensitive data from the equipment to be dispatched (disc destructions etc)
• Co-ordinating the cleanup of the Site with Suppliers to remove Network/Data Cable; Power and Racks, Cold Isle Containment, post migrations
• Relevant functional experience with regards to ICT in general as well as Hardware Planning and Installation tasks in particular
• Good methodical skills in terms of coordination and planning
• Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills, with the ability to communicate intelligently and effectively with our Data Center, supplier employees and subcontractors
• High level of computer literacy
• Excellent motivational and influencing skills, with high levels of personal integrity
• Ability to communicate technical and business problems in a non-technical manner
• Calm manner, able to work under pressure
• Able to make sound decisions when needed
• Analytical thinker
• Creative and solution oriented personality
• High level of energy / Self-starter who is confident and reliable
