Job Description - DevOps Engineer

In Intempus, we have a mission to make time tracking as easy, intelligent and automated as possible. The ambitions for our product are high and we want to continuously be a treasured helping hand in the workday for our +60K daily users. In order to achieve this, we need to ensure that our system always provides a good and stable user experience and can handle a fast growing number of users.

And that is why we are looking for you - an experienced DevOps Engineer who is up for the challenge!

We offer you

  • A position where you can grow, learn and have an impact in your work

  • A helpful, social and diverse workplace with a flat hierarchy and open communication

  • A good and healthy work/life balance

  • 45 friendly, competent and driven colleagues

  • Flexibility and the opportunity to work two days from home per week

  • A centrally located and modern office at Visma House in Carlsberg Byen, Copenhagen

  • … And much more!

Your role

As part of our three person DevOps team, your primary responsibility will be to help make sure our systems run smoothly at all times. More specifically, your tasks will be to:

  • Develop and maintain CI/CD pipelines to ensure fast, reliable, and secure delivery of changes to our applications.

  • Automate infrastructure and server configuration using tools like Ansible, Terraform, or any other tool best suited for the task. We are transitioning from a fully manual setup to a system where all infrastructure and configurations are fully documented and managed as code.

  • Monitor and troubleshoot day-to-day problems in our servers and applications.

  • Design and implement solutions that will improve our system using the best tools in the DevOps ecosystem. This can be anything - from implementing a new secrets management solution to improving the way we deploy our container applications.

  • Collaborate with developers to improve tooling around development and test environments.

  • Keep our infrastructure and applications updated and secure.

  • Automate our processes wherever possible to reduce manual effort and lower the maintenance burden as much as possible.

Who are you?

As a person you are proactive in your work and take ownership of your tasks and responsibilities. You thrive in working with a lot of freedom in a team environment where we always share ideas openly, listen and help each other out.

You are skilled at communicating both written and verbally with your colleagues and actively contributes to fostering a good working environment in the team.

Your educational background preferably consists of a university Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or another equivalent degree. In your professional career, you have worked in a DevOps role or similar (System Administrator, etc.) for at least three years.

On the technical side, you have experience with:

  • Managing Linux operating systems for at least two years. We run Linux (Debian base) on all the servers we manage.

  • Bash scripting and you are comfortable in a bash shell.

  • Docker - building, testing, deploying and maintaining containerized applications in production environments.

  • A programming language. Our CI/CD pipeline and a lot of our automation is written in Python.

  • git.

  • A CI/CD tool (Github Actions, Jenkins, etc.).

  • An infrastructure as code (IaC) tool, preferably Terraform.

It would be nice, but not required, if you have experience with:

  • A configuration management tool, preferably ansible.

  • Any container orchestration software (e.g. Kubernetes).

  • Managing PostgreSQL databases.

  • Cloud services on any provider.

  • Security certification for example ISO 127001.
