Job Description - Director, New Product Planning

Does it excite you to shape enterprise-wide commercial strategy for pipeline assets, and do you have experience with New Product Planning across early development through Phase 3 readiness? If this sounds like you, and you are ready to take on a broad area of responsibilities, then you could be our new colleague.

Your new position
As Director, New Product Planning (NPP), you will bridge science and commercial strategy to help shape the future of our pipeline. Working closely with R&D, Commercial and Business Development (BD), you will translate market, competitive and clinical insights into actionable asset plans that maximize long-term value creation. This is an opportunity to influence high-impact decisions and help ensure pipeline assets are commercially compelling from early development through Phase 3 readiness.

We offer exciting responsibilities:

  • Lead commercial strategy for pipeline assets from early development through proof of concept and Phase 3 readiness
  • Integrate market, competitive and clinical insights into asset strategies and target product profiles (TPPs) to guide development choices
  • Represent Commercial in cross-functional project teams, ensuring commercial input informs key development milestones
  • Contribute to portfolio trade-off discussions and investment recommendations with evidence-based insights and strategic options
  • Drive lifecycle planning and support market readiness activities for pipeline assets
  • Support BD with commercial evaluations of external opportunities, as needed

Your profile
This role suits a strategic, collaborative leader who can translate complex scientific and market inputs into clear choices and recommendations. Success requires strong cross-functional influence, structured thinking, and the ability to build alignment while constructively challenging assumptions.

  • Extensive experience in pharma/biotech across commercial and R&D-facing roles
  • Proven expertise in New Product Planning, Commercial Strategy, and asset positioning
  • Strong understanding of the drug development process and value drivers across stages
  • Demonstrated leadership and ability to influence across senior, cross-functional stakeholders
  • Ability to develop and communicate TPPs and scenario-based recommendations for governance and portfolio decision-making
  • Advanced degree in Life Sciences, Business, or related discipline (MBA or PhD a plus)

You will join the Strategy team and work in close partnership with R&D, Commercial and BD, as well as cross-functional project teams, to drive commercial and scientific alignment across pipeline programs.
