Director of Financial Controlling & Compliance

At Tryg, we are looking for a strong finance leader who can elevate our Record-to-Report (RTR) landscape, strengthen compliance, and develop a high-performing team with impact across the CFO area. 

About the role | Leadership, RTR excellence & transformation 

As Director of Financial Controlling & Compliance, you will lead the Financial Controlling team in Group Accounting, including our Financial Controllers who drive day-to-day RTR, reporting, and process optimization activities.  

You will be accountable for delivering transparent, accurate and efficient financial reporting through an adequate financial controlling framework, internal controls and accounting processes across Group Accounting. The position entails end-to-end ownership of critical accounting processes including the general ledger, balance sheet reconciliations, financial controlling and reporting, financial risk assessments and internal controls as well as workflow optimization. 

Your key responsibilities include:

  Leading RTR and month-end close processes, setting direction, governance, and standards

  Ensuring high-quality financial reporting, audit delivery, and stakeholder communication 

  
  

• 
  

  Owning and enhancing internal control and financial controlling frameworks

  Driving standardization, automation, and Nordic harmonization of accounting processes 

  
  

• 
  

  Leading and developing a team of skilled Financial Controllers and specialists 

  
  

• 
  

  Supporting complex accounting topics, risk assessments, and compliance matters

  Driving finance transformation initiatives, including ERP and process improvements

  Contributing to the Finance Strategy 2029 roadmap and priorities

Critical qualifications:

  Master’s degree in Finance/Accounting (e.g., Cand.merc.aud) and +5 years of Big4 audit experience 

  
  

• 
  

  Strong expertise in accounting, financial controlling, and reporting standards 

  
  

• 
  

  Experience from group or financial controlling roles in large, international organizations 

  
  

• 
  

  Proven leadership experience with a strong focus on people development 

  
  

• 
  

  Track record in driving transformation and process improvements 

  
  

It is an advantage if you bring experience with SAP/S4HANA or finance system implementations and a background from the financial sector or other regulated industries.
