Experienced Scientist - RWE & Epidemiology

Lundbeck’s passion links to our purpose of restoring brain health so every person can be their best. We strive to make a real difference for patients. By developing innovative treatments, we improve the lives of people living with brain diseases. Your dedication is crucial. That is why you can expect us to be committed to your progress, so you can stay committed to ours.

Your new role

As RWE & Epidemiology Scientist, you will contribute to the design and execution of real-world evidence and epidemiological studies to inform decision-making across the product lifecycle, including product positioning, access and value demonstration, and post-marketing safety monitoring. You will act as a subject-matter expert within RWE and epidemiology and support the development and execution of short- and long-term evidence-generation activities aligned with Lundbeck’s global evidence strategy.

You will work in a highly matrixed organization, collaborating closely with global and regional colleagues across the value chain including key affiliates, as well as with external academic and scientific partners.

Travel to key markets (e.g. US, EU5, China, Japan) is expected, approximately 10-20 days per year.

Your key responsibilities include:

  • Designing, planning, and executing observational research studies in line with internal standards and external guidelines such as Good Pharmacoepidemiology Practices and ENCePP methodological guidance.

  • Contributing to the development of study concepts, protocols, analysis plans, and final reports, requiring strong scientific writing and communication skills.

  • Supporting proposal requests for RWE projects and contributing to vendor and data- source selection.

  • Critically reviewing published literature and external data sources to inform evidence-generation strategies.

  • Contributing to the development and maintenance of SOPs, work instructions, and best practices for observational research.

  • Preparing technical presentations and representing Lundbeck at relevant external scientific forums and conferences.

  • Establishing and maintaining effective collaborations with key opinion leaders, academic partners, and other external RWE and epidemiology stakeholders.

Your future team

The RWE & Epidemiology Specialist reports into the RWE & Epidemiology team, which is led by the Senior Director, RWE & Epidemiology, who in turn reports to the Vice President, Global Evidence & Outcomes (GEO).

The Real-World Evidence & Epidemiology (RWE & Epi) team consists of highly engaged experts in real-world evidence and epidemiology and is part of the Global Evidence & Outcomes (GEO) organization within Global Clinical Development. The team provides strategic and scientific leadership in observational research and epidemiology across the product lifecycle.

We are looking for an experienced RWE & Epidemiology Specialist with a can-do mindset, strong interpersonal skills, and a willingness to learn and thrive in a dynamic, global environment.

This position is based at Lundbeck headquarters in Copenhagen (Valby).

What you bring to the team

  • PhD (preferred) in a relevant scientific discipline such as epidemiology, pharmacoepidemiology, public health, or health services research.

  • Typically, 10-15 years of experience in real-world evidence and/or epidemiological research, gained in industry, a CRO, or similar.

  • Experience in rare diseases is preferred, with demonstrated ability to design and interpret RWE and epidemiological studies in small or complex patient populations.

  • Strong understanding of observational study design, data sources, and regulatory and scientific standards for RWE.

  • Strong stakeholder-engagement skills, with the ability to build trusted relationships and collaborate effectively with internal and external partners.

  • Ability to think strategically while delivering high-quality, fit-for-purpose results.

  • Excellent project-management skills and ability to work independently in a global, matrixed environment.

  • Fluency in written and spoken English.
