For our team Offshore Construction PR&S team within Siemens Gamesa we currently hiring a Head of High Voltage Hazardous Energies . We are looking for an oriented, skilled and dedicated Manager who loves challenges and is knowledgeable about HV operations in the Wind industry who will based in Gdansk, Poland or in Vejle, Denmark .

How to contribute to our vision

As Global Head of High Voltage Offshore Hazardous Energies you will join the team of Product and Specialists department in Construction Offshore in Siemens Gamesa. You will lead an established team of HV experts focusing on high voltage standards and methods to execute high voltage works during pre-assembly, offshore installation, and commissioning phase. It is driven in a project-centric operating model in Siemens Gamesa. The team is acting as global competence center for HV construction works.

You will be part of setting the strategy within the area. You will be defining the requirements of what is needed for new products, from a Construction perspective, to support efficient and safe operation, as well as securing a design which support optimal operational HV setup.

The role also holds a high level of operational responsibility. The department has the ultimate governance of overall legal HV electrical responsibility on Offshore Construction Sites. A further responsibility is to ensure SGRE high voltage construction work is conducted in a safe and efficient manner. A key factor is to enhance electrical competence level in general over the organization. One of your key responsibilities will be to give and develop further a state-of-the-art framework for High Voltage (HV) Installation Technicians and Authorized Persons (APs) to perform HV Terminations and HV Switching within the Siemens Gamesa Wind Turbine Generators (WTGs).

In this role you are expected to be strong in stakeholder management as well as supporting/guiding Tender and Technical Sales, on products as well and projects. Expect also to be in direct contact with customers, when requested.

As Head of High Voltage, you will engage with stakeholders across the construction processes and within the industry to establish common standards.

You can bring sustainability and long-term vision to the group, and you are proud to be part of a renewables future and contribute to install some of the largest Offshore wind farms in the world.

Some of your key tasks will include but not be limited to:

  • Ensure compliance with country and /or company specific electrical regulations
  • Facilitate in defining and ordering of electrical parts and tools
  • Member/contributor to Construction document review board
  • Support in developing technical documentation,
  • Identification and development of new and existing sub-contractors
  • Defining technical content in trainings
  • Chairman of the SGRE Offshore HV nomination board

What you need to make a difference

Passion for renewable energy and a sense for the importance to lead the change..

  • You have a minimum of 5 years of relevant work experience working with high voltage energies. Ideally in large construction projects, asset management experience with the focus on HV
  • Master’s degree in electrical engineering or industrial engineering, or some other similar energy relevant education with HV electrical background
  • Leadership experience of international teams at different locations is an advantage
  • You have been involved in making strategical decisions previously within a company.
  • You have a safety-first mindset to create a safe working environment for technicians working in our wind turbines.
  • You are strong in HV safety rules, switching and termination guidelines.
  • Team player with excellent communication skills and ability to work independently, able to work under pressure and perform evidence-based decision making.
  • Wish to be a part of an international team located in different countries where we work together and support each other.
  • Result-orientated, self-driven and persistent person while also being open.
  • Basic IT skills (MS office package specially Excel)
  • Fluent in English
