Lead Civil Engineer (m/k/d)

As a Lead Civil Engineer you will be responsible for coordinating with secondary-, primary-civil- and commissioning engineering team. You will not be conducting drawings yourself, but will be supervising the full concept of engineering a substation. To succeed in this position, you need to have experience of structural/civil engineering/design and/or tendering work have supervision experience, good teamwork and communication skills. You will be based in the Danish office in Middelfart. Some of your main responsibilities will be:

• To be the specialist in civil related topics during the tender stage
• Supporting the tender team by preparing tender materials for the civil aspects
• Preparing quotation materials to civil subcontractors and preparing quotation materials to civil design companies
• Geotechnical and soil engineering experience is a must - soil conditions in the ground, conducting soil investigation reports (how deep should they dig, should the foundation be larger etc.)
• Review of the relevant sections of the contract agreements and the permit requirements.
• Recognizing possible cost-saving opportunities.
• Working with the project execution team
• Performing quantity surveying or reviewing external quantity surveys
• Other construction-related duties in cooperation with specialists from other fields of expertise.
• Around 10% of your time will be supporting the tender process in terms of technical expertise within civil engineering topics. The remaining time will be spent working with the project execution team, overseeing civil engineering work, and managing subcontractors. Hitachi Energy colleges will lead the electrical aspects of these projects

• B.Sc. or M.Sc. in construction/civil engineering
• Experience in supervision, engineering/design or tendering work. Ideally from project business
• A solid knowledge of construction materials and methods
• Basic construction software user skills, e.g., Auto CAD
• The ability to take initiative and to work under pressure
• Good problem-solving and decision-making skills
• Good written and spoken communication skills in English and Danish
• Ability to communicate and work effectively with various project teams and internal/external partners.
• Experience from project business
• Knowledge of 3D design tools and building information modelling (BIM)
• Construction design skills and basic architectural design skills is a nice to have
