Embark on a groundbreaking journey with the European Spallation Source, a visionary project at the forefront of science and technology in Europe! Witness the marvels of the most powerful linear proton accelerator being built today, alongside a cutting-edge five-tonne, helium-cooled tungsten target wheel. Explore the future of scientific discovery with 15 state-of-the-art neutron beamlines, also known as "Neutron instruments". Join us in shaping the future of innovation and exploration at the European Spallation Source!
The Neutron Scattering Systems division (NSS), in collaboration with its European partners, is at the forefront of delivering cutting-edge neutron beamlines and pioneering key technologies to facilitate the scientific utilization of neutrons at our facility. With 15 neutron beamlines currently under construction at ESS and a total of 22 beamlines planned to complete our state-of-the-art instrument suite, we are dedicated to pushing the boundaries of engineering exploration.
The Technical Projects Group (TPG), a vital component of the NSS division, provides the engineering expertise that drive the construction of neutron beamlines at ESS and contribute to the design and development of specialized instrumentation components. From radiological shielding systems to neutron polarization capabilities, TPG plays a pivotal role in ensuring the integration of the most advanced neutron delivery technologies to our entire instrument suite.
