IMC is continuing to grow its trading initiative in Aarhus, Denmark, to become a major player in the European Power and Gas markets. This expansion is built on a strong foundation of experienced external hires in Trading and internal talent in Technology. With a collaborative and entrepreneurial culture, the team offers a unique opportunity to contribute to shaping and scaling this new business.

The group combines deep expertise with broad trading experience and values innovation, ownership and cross-functional collaboration. As this business continues to grow, there will be increasing opportunities to take on broader responsibilities and contribute meaningfully to its success.

Core Responsibilities

  • Design, implement, and maintain quantitative models used for trading, forecasting, and market analysis.

  • Apply machine learning, statistical modeling, and data-driven analysis to European power and gas markets, with direct impact on trading performance.

  • Develop robust, production-quality Python code and ensure models and results are well-tested and reliable.

  • Collaborate closely with traders to translate market intuition and fundamental insights into quantitative signals and tradeable models.

Skills and Experience

  • Strong academic background, preferably in a quantitative field.

  • 2+ years of professional experience developing quantitative models, machine learning solutions, or data-driven trading analytics.

  • Strong Python programming skills and experience working with complex data and models.

  • A rigorous and structured approach to analysis and validation.

  • Experience with energy markets (power and gas) is an advantage but not a must; candidates with strong quantitative or ML backgrounds from other domains are encouraged to apply.

  • Fluency in English.
