Job Description - Program Manager

Location: Warner Robins, GA

The Challenge:
The Program Manager (PM) will manage and direct the daily execution of contract requirements to assure that cost, schedule, and performance goals are met. The PM will lead an integrated product team through kick-off, project initiation, planning, execution, monitoring and controlling, and the close out phase. The PM will also support the business growth initiatives and lead program management efforts to capture new business. Responsibilities will be commensurate with experience along with an opportunity for professional growth and the potential to serve in increasingly more responsible roles.

Job Duties:

  • Provide leadership to the integrated product team; Assure clear and continuous communication among team members to foster a collaborative environment.
  • Serve as the primary interface with the customer on all matters involving contract execution. Coordinate with other departments on resolution of contractual problems with the customer.
  • Develop and implement plans and schedules to execute contracts/subcontracts. Allocate and control contract budgets for labor, material, travel and purchased services. Report program status to company executives monthly.
  • Formally identify, assess, monitor, and mitigate risk throughout the program life cycle. Obtain management approval prior to making decisions that will cause deterioration of established program, cost, and schedule objectives.
  • Perform variance analysis of schedule and cost (i.e. earned value management)
  • Assure a timely closeout of completed programs to ensure that all obligations are satisfied, and program documentation is properly recorded.
  • Participate as a team member or leader on bid and proposal activities.
  • Actively seek new business opportunities through on-contract growth and in coordination with Business Development
  • Prepare for and participate in contract/subcontract negotiations.

Qualifications:

Minimum Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree plus 7 years of Project Management experience OR equivalent experience

Required Skills and Experience:

  • US Citizenship with ability to obtain and maintain a Department of Defense (DOD) Security Clearance
  • Understanding of cash flow management principles
  • Successful track record in managing aerospace/defense programs,
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills to include presentation skills
  • Ability to travel CONUS and OCONUS

Preferred Skills and Experience:

  • US DoD Industry Experience and DoD acquisition policies and processes
  • Experience throughout the program lifecycle from development through sustainment
  • Experience implementing cost reduction and performance improvement efforts
  • Knowledge of the principles of earned value cost accounting and reporting; experience as a Cost Account Manager
  • Experience as a Capture lead for new business opportunities.
  • Experience with repair depot and diminishing manufacting sources and material shortages (DMSMS) management
