We are looking for a Quality Engineer – Product Reliability & Test to join our Quality Engineering team. In this role, you will play a key part in ensuring robust product validation, reliability, and continuous quality improvement across the product lifecycle.
You will work closely with R&D, Production, Supplier Quality, and Aftermarket, contributing to both product development and ongoing performance improvement.
The Role
As part of the Quality Engineering Department, you will lead and support quality improvement initiatives, drive structured problem-solving, and ensure strong validation and testing frameworks across product development and lifecycle activities.
You will play a critical role in ensuring that product reliability, validation processes, and testing methodologies meet the required standards, while continuously improving quality performance.
Key Responsibilities
Quality Engineering & Product Reliability
- Lead and manage quality improvement projects, including structured investigation and implementation of corrective actions
- Plan and facilitate cross-functional problem-solving activities (e.g. 8D, Root Cause Analysis) across R&D, Production, Supplier Quality, and Aftermarket
- Drive quality awareness through effective communication of quality data, trends, and risks
- Review engineering specifications and change requests, assessing their impact on product quality
- Facilitate risk assessments and mitigation activities for product and process changes
- Drive and support System/Design FMEA updates and ensure cross-functional alignment
- Identify and manage Special Characteristics, including tracking and control mechanisms
Testing, Validation & Product Development
- Lead efforts to improve product lifetime, reliability, and qualification test methods
- Define and implement recurring test plans for critical components
- Develop test methods for customer claim investigations in collaboration with Customer Claims and laboratory teams
- Ensure structured documentation and storage of validation data and test procedures
- Support Product Qualification Processes and ensure validation activities are completed prior to product release
- Support Engineering Change Requests (ECRs), ensuring validation and quality impact are properly addressed
Supplier & Product Quality Support
- Initiate and support PPAP processes for supplier/component qualification
- Support First Article Inspection (FAI) and Part Submission Warrant (PSW) approvals
- Collaborate with Supplier Quality, laboratories, and production teams
- Support REMAN and repair quality processes, including data collection and improvement actions
- Contribute to benchmarking activities against competitors to identify improvement opportunities
- Drive continuous improvement of validation frameworks and test strategies across the product lifecycle
Who we are looking for
Technical Competence
- Degree in Mechatronics, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Test Engineering, or a similar technical field
- Strong knowledge of quality engineering methodologies (APQP, PPAP, FMEA, DV/PV processes)
- Experience with structured problem-solving methods (8D, Root Cause Analysis, 5 Whys)
- Experience with product validation, reliability testing, and qualification processes
- Strong understanding of risk assessment and mitigation in product development
- Experience with supplier quality processes and component qualification
- Proficiency in data analysis tools (Excel, Power BI or similar)
- Experience working in cross-functional environments
- Six Sigma Green Belt (preferred)
