Job Description - Sales Manager

Do you want to be a valued part of the critical infrastructure that serves communities across Europe and beyond? Are you looking for a position in which you can set direction and help shape our company? If so, then you could be the newest addition to our sales team in Denmark.

About the role – Be part of the Movement – and play your part

As Sales Manager, you will focus primarily on new customers but also on developing existing customers and expanding our footprint in the Danish market.

In the role, you will be a part of the logistics sales organization. Your focus will be the Danish market, but you will also be a part of the organization to develop the overall commercial team in Europe. Therefore, the Sales Manager will cooperate closely with the other sales teams to ensure performance for the entire group and contribute from a local perspective.

The position is located a the office in Esbjerg where you work closely together with the Managing Director and the Operational Management Team. You will also cooperate closely with colleges within DFDS and locations scattered around Jutland and Europe and visit customers. For the same reasons, you can expect some travel days within this position.

In the role as a sales Manager you will:


  • Develop and execute strategic sales plans to achieve company objectives and drive business growth.

  • Analyse market trends and competitor activities to identify opportunities and adapt sales strategies accordingly.

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key customers and stakeholders.

  • Support the current sales team to ensure performance targets are met or exceeded.

  • Identify and pursue new business opportunities to expand market share and customer base.

  • Represent the company at industry events and networking activities to promote our products and strengthen our brand presence.

  • Work closely with our operations in Esbjerg, Taulov and Hobro, to identify the current gaps in our operational flows.

About you

The position will require that you often are self-driven and that you are active in the sales approach to new leads. It is expected of you to be "on the road" a majority of the working days, to be close to the customers and leads that you create.

It is a big plus if you have a relevant background within logistics or transport company and have experience with CRM-systems.

  • Have at least 1 year of experience in Sales, preferably from a similar industry.

  • Are fluently in both English and Danish

  • Have strong communication abilities and can convert complex ideas clearly and persuasively.

  • Have a good approach to understanding client needs and how to deliver value.

  • Are comfortable working in a fast-changing business environment

  • Are capable of developing long-term plans aligned with company objectives.

  • Bring new ideas and creative approaches to challenges.
