We are looking for a Senior Search Engineer to join our team of highly skilled developers at JYSK Head Office. In this role, you will be an expert in improving and refining our existing search setup or exploring alternatives based on your expertise and analysis of its performance. You will work closely with developers and colleagues from different departments in our agile team setup to help deliver value in a fast and incremental way.

WHAT YOUR NEXT JOB WILL BE ABOUT

In this role, you will take responsibility for the evolution and optimisation of JYSK’s search systems, ensuring they meet business needs effectively.

Your tasks and responsibilities in the job includes:

• Managing and improving our existing search infrastructure, analysing its performance and identifying areas for improvement together with other Search Engineers
• Collaborating with a team of experienced developers to integrate and optimise search capabilities within our applications
• Designing and developing scalable search solutions tailored to our specific business requirements
• Enhancing search performance through query optimisation, index management, and relevance ranking
• Developing tools in NodeJS to support editors in improving search outcomes
• Keeping up to date with advancements in search technology and recommending innovative ideas to enhance search functionality
• Providing technical guidance and sharing best practices on search with development teams and stakeholders
• Working with cross-functional teams to understand search requirements and implement efficient search strategies

WHAT SHOULD YOU BRING

We are looking for a new colleague who:

• Brings broad knowledge and experience with software development
• Has solid experience as a Senior Search Engineer or in a similar role, with expertise in Elasticsearch, Solr, or OpenSeach
• Demonstrates strong skills in optimising and maintaining large-scale search infrastructures, ideally with Elasticsearch
• Has experience working with large datasets and data-intensive applications
• Possesses a deep understanding of search algorithms, indexing, relevance ranking, and semantic search
• Shows strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Works collaboratively, communicates clearly, and explains technical concepts effectively
