Job Description - Student Assistant - Commercial Communication, Europe & International

At our headquarters in Hellerup, Denmark, research facilities in Heidelberg, Germany, and additional offices across Europe and the United States, we are advancing programs in our Endocrinology Rare Disease and Oncology portfolios. We also collaborate with partners on the development of TransCon-based products in other therapeutic areas and markets.   

We are seeking a passionate Student Assistant – Commercial Communication to join our team. As a member of the Ascendis Pharma team, you will play a role in helping to build our communication function and channels across Europe and International markets and support our local affiliates in their local PR and communication activities. This is an exciting opportunity to work in a fast-paced environment and collaborate with both local and global cross-functional teams while gaining experience across multiple communication disciplines to make a difference for patients living with rare endocrine diseases. 

You will be joining the Commercial Communication team, and report directly to Pia Beltrão Hansen, Senior Director & Head of Commercial Communication who is based in our global Headquarters in Hellerup/Copenhagen. You will also be based in our global headquarters in Hellerup.  

Your key responsibilities include, but are not limited to: 

  • Producing compelling content; writing and editing engaging articles and producing videos and other communication formats for our internal and external channels, including social media 
  • Helping to build digital channels (websites, social media, and newsletters) across our European markets, including tracking and analysis of performance 
  • Supporting design and roll out of internal and external multi-channel disease awareness and communication campaigns  
  • Support with media relations across European affiliates; including producing messaging for press releases, media events, interviews, trainings, issues management etc.  
  • Managing approval of communication materials 

Qualifications and Skills: 

Ideally, you are in the last year of your Bachelor studies or have started the first year of your Master’s studies in Communications, Media & Journalism, or a related field.  

Furthermore, you have: 

  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills in English. Proficiency in other European languages (Danish, French, Finnish, German, Italian, Norwegian, Spanish, or Swedish) is an added benefit. 
  • Proficiency in MS Office tools such as Outlook, PowerPoint, SharePoint, Teams, and Excel, and have experience in video editing and graphic design, using tools such as CANVA or similar. Experience with Veeva PromoMats is an advantage, but not a requirement.

You have a passion for using communication strategically to develop compelling and engaging content for patients, healthcare professionals, journalists, and internal audiences – bringing fresh perspectives and ideas to our communications at Ascendis Pharma.   

You possess an entrepreneurial mindset and are a strong team player with a ‘can-do’ attitude who thrives in a collaborative, international and informal environment where we challenge ourselves and learn from each other.  

Hours: 2-3 days per week, approx. 15-20 hours in total. We want you to be able to balance your studies and work responsibilities and therefore offer flexibility during exam periods.
