Join the Hempel Marine Data and Technology team and help decarbonize the shipping industry
As a trusted partner in the marine coating industry, Hempel is helping vessel owners reduce their CO2-emissions through a combination of high-performance coating systems and continuous hull monitoring. As part of our increased focus on data utilization to improve our vessel efficiency solutions, the marine data and technology team is looking to connect our data streams to serve value-adding insights directly to our customers.

Be part of the digital revolution within marine coatings
As a project manager within the marine data and technology team you will have the opportunity to work with a wide range of projects aimed at digitalising internal and external tools, build robust flows for large-scale data processing and flows, as well as ensuring Hempel’s current and future products are compatible with new technology arising in the market.

The main focus areas for this role are:

• Maintaining a prioritised overview of running and upcoming projects
• Establish and drive project governance with focus on speed in execution
• Plan and schedule prioritisation of development resources between projects
• Reuse project insight and knowledge between project
• Ensure close collaboration with internal and external stakeholders

You will be joining a dedicated team of twelve colleagues in the Marine Data and Technology team, working with both development and operation of the marine performance and business data. Half the team is based in Copenhagen, Denmark, while the other half is based in different countries in Europe and Asia.

As our ideal candidate you have a deep passion for working with projects and a wide range of stakeholders. In this role you will be responsible for setting up, driving & supporting the project team, removing obstacles on the way to deliver, and to create a fun and performance focused environment for everyone to grow in. When faced with unique challenges, you generally gravitate towards the simplest solution. As a person you are thorough, disciplined and reliable with a tendency to plan ahead.

The main requirements for the role are:

• Project manager experience from consulting, a larger corporation, start-up environment or academia
• Experience with digital projects and dataflows in Azure resource groups, Power BI, SQL databases and power apps / automate flow is a plus
• Experience in promoting knowledge transfer initiatives between individuals and teams
• Curious by nature and able to combine your structured logic with a creative approach to find solutions to challenges you haven’t faced before
• Thriving with rapid change and possessing the potential to pivot solutions, and get excited at the prospect of developing new tools, manage, prepare and utilize data in different formats.
• Strong communication skills, verbal and in writing, in English
