Vestas Global Procurement is overall responsible for buying, tactical purchasing and strategic sourcing activities within Vestas Wind System A/S. Our team of purchasers are selecting suppliers, negotiating contracts, and securing the delivery of products and services for all Vestas factories, service sites, and office locations.
You will be involved in projects to develop and implement forward thinking practices, while delivering value to the customer through an end-to-end value chain approach. To keep Vestas up-to-date, Global Procurement is committed to build relations with the best suppliers, reduce waste across the value chain and deliver benchmark cost levels for our products and services.

We are always looking for new suppliers and innovation to deliver high quality products and services at the right time and most competitive cost. We develop best practices anchored in tools, systems, and processes to drive continuous improvement and unified execution in Procurement.

Responsibilities
We are looking for interns within the following areas:

Direct & Service Procurement:
As a Direct & Service Procurement intern, you will support negotiations, build business cases and strategic partnerships to overall support the Vestas strategy. Examples of possible projects or tasks could be as follows:

  • Support for commodity strategy roll-out,
  • Lead and drive sustainability projects incl. CO2 reduction
  • Contract management and cost analysis
  • Support to secure the successful launch of next generation platforms and 2023 delivery execution.
  • Participate in End2End multifunctional activities to maximize supplier performance such as development and implementation of strategies and complexity reduction.

Procurement Excellence:
As a Procurement Excellence intern, you will act as an enabler for anchoring our Global Procurement strategy across the modules. You will contribute to futureproofing Vestas' business by working strategically within one of the following areas:

  • Support on raw material queries and development of reporting methodologies, roll-out Global Procurement guidelines and training materials to enable best-in-class commodity management.
  • Support the execution and automation of the supplier engagement programme to maximize the value of Vestas' supply base.
  • Support Vestas' supply chain decarbonization journey through digitalization of supplier sustainability reporting.
  • Support the exploration of statistics analyses to pave the way for a more fact-based decision approach. (Requires solid skills within mathematics and statistics, e.g., mathematics/economics background)

Supplier Quality :
As a Supplier Quality intern, you will support all activities around the qualification of suppliers and components for wind turbines. Due to the technical nature of the product, you should have a good technical understanding (e.g., engineering background) and passion to improve the quality level and supplier maturity, documented in key performance indicators (KPIs). Tasks could be as follows:

  • Support process improvement for the offshore customer activities within Vestas, suppliers, customers and internal stakeholders
  • Participate in workshops for development of offshore best practices within Vestas teams and support with ad-hoc related tasks
  • Secure communication among all internal & external stakeholders about offshore activities to be planned and executed

The specific tasks or projects will be decided along with you and the department or category you will be linked to during your internship.

Qualifications
You are currently a master's degree student in Denmark, e.g. within Procurement, Logistics, Supply Chain Management, International Business, Innovation Management and Business Development, Mechanical Engineering or Mathematical Economics or a similarly relevant line of study.
