Trainee, Bremen

Do you see yourself developing in a practical setting through on-the-job training while studying and engaging with other trainees? Then this 3-year traineeship with NORDEN might be for you.

Your week will be split between working in the office and going to school. The school begins in August 2024, and this would therefore be the latest start date.

It is a requirement that you speak German and hold a German work permit.

The traineeship
As our new colleague and Trainee you will enter into a 3-year traineeship where you will get the state-approved job degree of Shipping Merchant (Schifffahrtskauffrau/mann).

The traineeship is fulltime. You will combine 2 days of school with 3 days of work in our Bremen office.

We will register you at the public school, where you will enroll in subjects such as math, politics, bookkeeping, geography and shipping. The lectures and exams are in German. While at work your traineeship will primarily be in our two commercial departments, Operations and Chartering.

Your qualifications
We are looking for a colleague with an eagerness to learn and your background is therefore not important. However, we expect you to hold the below:

• You have some practical work experience within any field.
• You speak and write both German and English.
• You already live in Germany, preferably in the Bremen area.
• You hold a German work license.

Besides this you are eager and curious to learn about shipping. We will make sure to support and enable your development and skills in an international shipping environment.

The process
The recruitment process consists of one interview, supplemented by a personality and cognitive assessment, that you will have to complete before the interview.

The traineeship will take effect from 1st of August 2024, but we are open to an earlier start date.
