With emphasis on reducing the achievement gap for minority students, MEP-WiSE offers a comprehensive retention and graduation success program—including summer bridge, mandatory tutoring, supplemental instruction, peer mentoring, and internships—focusing on improving student academic performance.The mission of the Cal Poly Pomona College of Engineering is to produce well-qualified engineering graduates who are ready for immediate and productive entry into the workforce or for graduate studies. The college provides practice-oriented education based on sound engineering principles and applications, while emphasizing teamwork, communication and creative skills needed to be leaders in a global society. The College of Engineering provides opportunities to more than 5,600 undergraduate and graduate students in seven engineering departments, offering eleven programs leading to Bachelor of Science degrees in Aerospace, Chemical, Civil, Computer, Electrical, Industrial, Manufacturing, Mechanical, Engineering Technology, Construction Engineering Technology, and Electronics and Computer Engineering Technology. In addition, graduate programs are offered for Master of Science degrees in Engineering (with emphasis in Aerospace Engineering or Materials Engineering), Civil Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Engineering Management, Mechanical Engineering, and Systems Engineering. The undergraduate curricula are accredited by the Engineering Accreditation Commission or the Technology Accreditation Commission of ABET, Inc. (Accreditation Board for Engineering and Technology).DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIESFiscal and Budgetary Management of Foundation and State accounts:Under general supervision, develop and implement the fiscal and budgetary management process for MEP and WiSE programs on Foundation and State accounts (including grants/contracts and philanthropic)Monitor and reconcile accounts, analyze fund use to provide bi-weekly finance reports to the MEP-WiSE Director, including making expense recommendations to the directorInterpret and implement changes to fiscal policy related to and impacting the MEP and WiSE programs.Grants and Contracts:Analyze, prepare, and review budget submissions for grant proposals and contracts for MEP-WiseTrack and reconcile expendituresMake purchases for MEP and WiSE program supportProvide biweekly reports to the MEP-WiSE DirectorServe as the liaison with the Office of Research and Sponsored Programs, Philanthropic Foundation, and University Advancement to ensure budget related compliance.Purchasing and Procurement Credit Card (P-Card)Purchase equipment, supplies, and services to support MEP and WiSEEnsure compliance with funding source rules and regulations (including OMB Circulars on federal funding)Adhere to ATI/ IT requirements before purchaseTrack and process orders for timely paymentProvide bi-weekly reports to MEP-WiSE Director. Serve as main point-of-contact for P-Card purchasesCoordinate PCard fiscal management process with stakeholdersEnsure monthly P-Card statements/expense reports are correctly reconciled before reviewTrainingAttend all required, appropriate training to remain knowledgeable of Foundation and State fiscal policies and procedures and university systems and platforms.QUALIFICATIONSBachelor’s degree and/or the equivalent training and administrative work experience involving study, analysis, and/or evaluation leading to the development or improvement of fiscal processes, administrative policies, procedures, practices, or programAny combination of education/experience to be able to perform the essential functions of the position.Working knowledge of general practices, program, and/or administrative specialty. Basic knowledge of and ability to apply fundamental concepts. Working knowledge of budget policies/procedures. Ability to learn, interpret, and apply a wide variety of policies/procedures related to the organizational unit. Knowledge of basic methods and procedures for research and statistical analysis and the ability to apply them. Ability to analyze data and make accurate projections using business mathematics and basic statistical techniques. Ability to organize and plan work projects, including handling multiple competing priorities. Ability to make independent judgement decisions and exercise sound judgement related to fiscal matters. Ability to gather/compile data, write, and present reports. Demonstrated ability to maintain cooperative collaborative working relationships.Preferred QualificationsPrevious experience using MS Office Suite, other taks-specific software (e.g., PeopleSoft, Kronos, OneSolution, Tableau); Previous experience with Foundation and State fiscal policy/procedureCOVID-19 VaccinationCSU requires faculty, staff, and students who physically access campus facilities or programs to be fully vaccinated against COVID-19, which includes obtaining a COVID-19 booster dose, or declare a medical or religious exemption from doing so.
