We are now looking for an experienced Chief Enterprise Architect to join the IM leadership team with overall responsibility over Wärtsilä wide IT and digital architecture. Your mission is to enable significant digitalization and technology development goals related to decarbonization of Marine and Energy industries. You interface with Wärtsilä businesses and leaders and drive alignment between businesses and IT. You love talking about the value of IT, have the super-power to transform businesses, and a track record to prove it. You help transform Wärtsilä IM organisation from cost to value and to be true strategic partner to our businesses in accelerating digital growth and business productivity.

Possible location for this permanent position is Helsinki or Vaasa, Finland with hybrid remote work possibilities.

Responsibilities:  

• Responsibility for Wärtsilä wide enterprise architecture
• Align enterprise architecture and business roadmaps
• Lead architecture competence development across Wärtsilä
• Lead Enterprise Architecture team in Wärtsilä IM organization
• Empowering Architects in IM Architecture Community
• Modelling future state models of business, information and technology architecture reflecting the organization strategies and goals
• Create signature-ready recommendations for business demands and change needs - Supports major development initiatives by ensuring fit-for-purpose designs on short and long term
• Develop Wärtsilä wide enterprise architecture governance and review process
• Ensure as-is and to-be digital landscape agreement with all Wärtsilä business divisions
• Ensure business digital roadmaps with aligned and optimal technology choices - Ownership of IM application portfolio

To succeed in this position, we expect you to have:

• M.Sc. in Information Technology or Economics & Business Administration
• Excellent management and leadership skills with capability to drive change - Excellent written and verbal communication and presentation skills
• Chief Enterprice Architect position held in a >1BN annual turnover business
• Positions held in IT management team looking at overall IT development
• Proven track record of instituting and running IT architecture governance
• Proven track record of creating aligned business roadmaps with optimal technology
• Proven track record of overseeing / guiding enterprise-wide IT development portfolio
• Proven track record of representing IT and digital to board of management members
• Proactive and goal-focused attitude to work with excellent influencing and decision-making skills
• Experience from global industrial manufacturing and services business is considered a plus
• Fluent written and spoken English and advanced presentation skills
